Grade the
Representative.

The same accountability applied to the people casting the votes. A representative's grade won't be an opinion — it will be assembled from the bills they actually supported and opposed, weighted by who funded their campaigns. This page is a working preview of that design.

How this grade is built: every bill this member voted on carries a grade. Voting for a well-graded bill earns its points; voting against it loses them. The average across their record becomes their grade — with the money categories counted double.

What Has To Be Built
01
Roster of officials
Name, office, district, party, and term for each member being graded — added through an admin form the same way bills are today.
02
Vote records linked to graded bills
For each member, how they voted on every bill already in Grade the Bill. This is the connection that makes the whole system work: bill grades become representative grades.
03
Campaign finance data
Top donors and industry totals from FEC filings, feeding the Donor & Industry Influence category so donor money is visible next to the votes it may have bought.
04
The inheritance formula
A representative inherits a bill's category scores when they vote for it, and the inverse when they vote against it. Averaged across their record, weighted by the money categories.
Grade the Bill is live now
Representative grades are built out of bill grades, so the bill side comes first. Every bill added there becomes raw material for this page.
